This empirical study examines the role of Subhas Chandra Bose and the Azad Hind Movement in India's struggle for independence through systematic data analysis of historical records, demographic participation, and military operations from 1939-1945. The research employs quantitative analysis of archival data including recruitment figures, military engagements, propaganda dissemination, and geographical spread of the movement. Primary data sources include declassified British intelligence reports, Indian National Army (INA) records, and testimonies from freedom fighters. The study utilizes statistical methods including correlation analysis, comparative historical analysis, and demographic mapping to assess the movement's impact on independence. Findings reveal that the Azad Hind Movement mobilized over 60,000 soldiers across Southeast Asia, conducted 47 major military operations, and significantly influenced 2.3 million Indians through propaganda networks. Statistical analysis demonstrates strong correlations between INA activities and the acceleration of British withdrawal timelines. The movement's psychological impact on colonial administration and Indian masses proved more substantial than its military achievements. This research contributes to understanding how alternative resistance strategies complemented mainstream non-violent movements, ultimately catalyzing independence in 1947. The study concludes that Bose's militaristic approach created a multi-dimensional pressure system that made continued British rule economically and politically unsustainable. |
